Most adorable animated film I've seen in such a long time. The alien in the movie calls the pet cat "pig-cat" for Christ sake. It's just filled with the cutest characters and has the cutest plot ever. And Rihanna and Jim Parsons voice the main characters so how could that not possibly be amazing, I'm telling you, this movie is all kinds of great. And maybe critically this movie is not the best but in terms of pure entertainment this movie hits the nail on the head for me. Jim Parson's voice and the soundtrack just bring my mood up. The general vibe to this movie is "feel good".

This movie is literally the most uplifting animated movie I've probably ever seen. Jim Parson's and Rihanna's voices meld so well together and their story line is so entertaining even for a 20 year-old. I watched this with my little cousin and then I also watched this with my mom and my roommate-- equally as fun each time, however, I felt like I could connect with my cousin while watching this movie. We genuinely found the same parts funny. I haven't ever watched this movie without a grin on my face and I've never watched it with anyone else who hasn't grinned through this whole movie.

I really appreciated the uniqueness of this movie. The aliens that "invade" Earth kind of just move the humans to Australia, which I thought was 1. super smart and 2. a really innocent way of having peaceful aliens come to Earth. Of course they come to Earth because a destructive other race of aliens is chasing them but the explanation for that is also super innocent and cute and it makes sense (for an animated movie about peaceful alien inhabiting Earth), it isn't some stupid outlandish reason like "just because".
The soundtrack was amazing because most of it was Rihanna. And there are some tunes on this soundtrack I'll tell ya, just look up "Dancing in the Dark" I mean, what a tune. I bet Rihannah got a really good deal out of doing this movie, but she was actually really amazing with her voice acting as well. Through Rhianna's character, Tip, the movie explores ideas like when family is all you have, or a drastic change in environment at a young age. I really appreciate that this black female lead character is as amazing as she is and not stereotyped really at all (or as far as I could tell I don't know I am not the final stance on this).

I personally believe this is one of the most underrated animated movies of recent times. I loved this movie so much and it was genuinely funny. Of course it is a children's movie so the "funny" in it is cute and innocent but as least it isn't dumb and annoying. I wasn't at any point in time bored by this movie, and I was bored by Inside Out at points. I just find this movie so genuine and sweet and I really appreciate what it's all about.
